Mark Hulbert

Mr. Hulbert is a managing director in the Real Estate group. He joined Oaktree in 2014 from the law firm of Gibson Dunn & Crutcher, LLP, where his practice focused on complex real estate transactions. Before working at Gibson Dunn, Mr. Hulbert was a Partner in the real estate department of the law firm of Duval & Stachenfeld, LLP, and prior to that he was an associate at several prominent U.S. law firms. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Hulbert was an assistant professor of philosophy at the University of Central Arkansas. Mr. Hulbert received a B.A. (hons) in humanities from the University of Hertfordshire, as well as an M.A. and Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Oklahoma and a J.D. from Columbia University School of Law, where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar and an Articles Editor of the Columbia Journal of Transnational Law. Mr. Hulbert is a member of the State Bars of California and New York.
