Byron Beath

Mr. Beath serves as a managing director, establishing Oaktree’s Australian office in 2016. He leads Oaktree’s activities in Australia which has involved investments in a variety of sectors including resources, funds management, energy, finance, and wholesale distribution. Prior to joining Oaktree, Mr. Beath spent fifteen years with Macquarie Group Limited where he was a division director in the principal investing team of the Corporate and Asset Finance division. Mr. Beath currently serves on the boards of Oaktree Capital Australia Pty Ltd, DDH1 Ltd, AAAP and Marlin Brands and formerly served on the board of Blue Sky and Reverse Mortgage Services. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Macquarie University and completed the CPA program.
